Week 27

Holy cow. Week 27. Where to start... Bitty Baby is the size of a head of cauliflower, roughly 16 inches long and 2.5 lbs. This week, the Beck's said goodbye to the civic, officially have a time frame on the carpet being installed and gave the puppies one two too many baths. It's starting to get nice outside, I get that. But why must the boys show up to be let in, caked in dirt? Every. single. ding. dang. dong. time? I cannot wait to shave them  in a few weekends ;) Once I don't have to worry about excess dog hair..
LET THE NESTING BEGIN!
I'm talking mad thorough, actually move furniture cleaning!  The malibu got her spring-cleaning-on this week as well, with a trip through the car wash and a very impressive vacuum job :) I'm three weeks away from my first shower, 91 days from my DD and I definitely want to have that nursery done before the first of those two! Baby girl is moving around constantly. Kicking, rolling, hiccuping. Girls a complete busy body :)
27 weeks

Thanks to one of my favorite mommy bloggers, Brandon's Easter Basket is amazeballs this year. Yes. That is a 6 pack (no I did not drink the three missing). Yes I hot glued every strand of yarn on & Yes itty bitty insisted I include an "I love daddy" onesie. He may push every button I have, but lord knows I love that man
Other noteables this week :)

Miss Malibu got her SHINE ON

Baby A got this o-so-cute onesie in the mail from one of my amazing Brides yesterday!

She also got this super cute hat all the way from Minnesooota from cousin Evan!

I can now walk the boys at the same time, without fear of getting tangled and falling :)

I'm officially not allowed to grocery shop alone anymore. Whoops.

Snap. Rest. Snap.

Melt my <3
I lovvve my job. I get to meet the nicest people, cuddle the cutest babies and celebrate at the best parties! Taking photos while being pregnant has had its challenges but overall if you take lots of breaks and stay hydrated, it's a piece of cake wedding cake. This past weekend started my wedding season and I must say, it was an awesome start to this summers lineup.  Since finding out I was pregnant, I was forced to resign from four weddings in June and turn down a few July offers. That being said, I will be photographing two weddings at 6 months, two at 8 and 1 at the beginning of my 9th month!Whoah. For the last few weddings I have enlisted some awesome gals to be 2nd and 3rd photographers alongside me just in case my water breaks mid wedding anything should happen ;) I've taken off all of July to recoop and cuddle on baby A, but am starting back up with Weddings in August! Yikes. I wonder if the brides would notice her strapped to my back? ;)

26 weeks

How I spent a majority of Saturday night, managing the photobooth :)

Week 26

Whoa. and HELLOOO third trimester! I feel like this pregnancy is flying by! Do pregnant

women ever say that? We started off the weekend by celebrating St. Patty's day, where Brandon and I both got some baby practice time in on our friends cute baby Brynn :)  Seeing him hold a baby completely makes my heart skip a beat. Or five. I may need a permanent pacemaker when we bring home itty bitty.  Found out that baby A will officially be having 2 boy cousins and 1 girl! What a fun summer this is going to be with all these babies :) Adelie is about 14 inches long this week and weighs just over 2lbs.  Her eyes are now perceptive of light
& shining a flashlight on my belly has provoked some huge kicks! Heading to a delicious dinner tonight with my dad and soon-to-be Aunt Jamison <--(my sister), then to pick out my new paint sprayer! Happy Friday everyone! Hopefully the next post will be an update on her nursery complete with carpet! ;)

99 days from now is Dday!

My (pregnancy) St. Patricks Day drinks of choice. Fake beer and Mountain Dew.

Brandon and Sweet baby Brynn

In nursery news, I happened across another amazing piece of furniture on craigslist! After

borrowing our dear friend Jeff's truck (again) and $50 later I came home with this :)

                                       Which turned into this

Which matches her quilt so incredibly well :)
In baby style news..

Old Navy and Carters Cuteness

In Naughty dog news. Came home yesterday to Lewis out of his kennel in the sunroom. Couch completely shredded. These are the days I miss the ability to indulge in a margarita. Or 6.

How far along? 26 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up ((gulp)) 17 lbs. 4lbs in a week is ok...right?
Clothing: Old Navy stretchy lounge pants, crewcut sweatshirts and yes. I was guilty this week of using a rubberband around button to help my jeans close.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: Sleeping good. Brandon's poor side is getting smaller and smaller.
Best moment this week: Scoring BIG on the last piece for Baby A's nursery! $50 amazing find on craiglist!
Miss Anything? My bed and my comfy clothes. Like as SOON as I leave them :(
Movement: This past week she has been standing straight up in my belly! Kicking so low that at times I feared her little foot might pop out.
Symptoms: Still having acid reflux on and off. I know what causes it, it just depends on how bad I want those foods at that particular time ;)
Food cravings: The same things my non-pregnant self craved. Mountain Dew. Taco Bell. Dairy anything and ice cream. May or may not understand where those 4lbs came from....
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? I offically have an outtie

Large & Comfy

In Michigan this year, it appears that we are welcoming Spring with flowers and birds chirping Snow. While I am more than ready for some warmer weather, I'm doing a (very) small happy dance because this means I get to enjoy my recent obsession with Old Navy lounge wear just a little while longer. What's not to love about bright colors and unbelieveable comfort? Their crew neck sweatshirts are my new favorite article of clothing & were on sale for $15 yesterday! Shut the front door. May or may not have bought one of each color a few...
Whoah Mama.
Baby A has been kicking up a storm recently, but seems to be most active while I'm shopping....that's my girl. Captured my heart already<3

CC Baby

My oh-so-clever husband has talked me into joining a Country Club. His irresistable selling point was that while he will get to enjoy golfing with his buddies, Baby A & I get to relax at the clubhouse pool! Um. Deal! Take into account that unlike previous years where we could cool off in the pool at our apt complex, I am now smack dab in the middle of the city. With no pool. We tried to make due with a small plastic pool last year. Ya. that lasted 4 seconds. The boys (W&L) quickly decided it made a better chew toy than a hydration station.

2012 Beck Pool. Clearly only room for 1 anyways
Since we're under the age of 30 we get a nice little major discount, making CC life totally doable :) While my mind has been wandering towards the poolside since he brought it up, it was around 8pm last night when I realized..I'm having a baby in 14 weeks. Cool, I'm ready for that. What I'm not ready for? My body after baby. There will be absolutely 0 months of working out for swimsuit season. And Somehow my daydream of sitting poolside with itty bitty had never before included a giant Moo Moo to cover my poor recovering body (not to mention the other unpleasantries that I hear accompany a normal birth for the first 6 or some odd weeks). Bleh. Definitely not ready for that lovely experience. Now don't get me wrong, it'll totally be worth it, but is it too much to ask for my body to magically warp back to prepregnancy post baby? More honeymoonish, if I could pick...

Exhibit A

A girl can dream right? Rant over. Woe is me, let's talk cute CC baby A apparel! Can't wait to see her lounging beside me in her CC whites! (under an umbrella of course!)
1. Pottery Barn Kids Tote 2.Old Navy Beach cover up 3. Baby Gap sundress 4. California Baby Sunscreen 5. Baby Gap swim 6. Old Navy Jellies 7. Baby Gap headband 8. Old Navy sunhat 9. Baby Gap romper

Week 25

Happy Friday everyone! Baby A is the size of an eggplant this week! In case your like me and

have rarely seen an eggplant, let alone picked one up, she's roughly a foot long and just under 2lbs. That's almost the same length and weight (sorrynotsorry) as my pre-baby Subway sandwhich (which I have not had in months, because of the risk of listeriosis from the meat.) Big ol sad face there :( Thursday we had a brief patch of sunshine and the husband and I took the dogs for a run. Well him run, me more of a slow jog..but I made it farther than I thought I would. Bonus. On a creative note, the dresser has been ombred and her mason jar is overflowing with headbands. Next week starts the home s t r e t c h a.k.a last trimester and we are more then ready for it to be June!

25 weeks

Told myself I would never post a bare belly shot. And this will be the ONLY one, but this morning she was definitely laying on one side of my belly and you could see it much better this way :)

Baby girls dresser/changing table

Her quilt finally came in too!

Did you notice her name on the quilt?
The original name we had picked out was Adelie Harper Beck.
We also wanted to include my mothers name.
So we dropped harper & switched her middle name to Jo.
After Barbara Jo Watson.
We still loved Harper and wanted it as well.
After going back and forth for a few days minutes.
we decided to keep it all.
Adelie Jo Harper Beck
After all. My mother named me Jacee Jo Ashton Watson.
And it is embroidered on her quilt.
So it's a done deal.
And we LOVE it.

a little green for st pattys day :)

A dash of Old Navy cuteness

An excerpt from my moms pregnancy journal, at 6 months. I feel the same way!

How far along? 25 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up 13 lbs.
Stretch marks? Nope
Sleep: For some reason my large belly the husband and I have been waking up throughout the night and cannot get comfortable. Hope this isn't our bodies way of preparing for middle of the night cry sessions :S
Best moment this week: Getting itty bittys quilt in the mail! Now I can start matching fabrics :)
Miss Anything? My feet. Have you seen them?
Movement: Baby A kicked so hard this week that I jumped! She's getting SO strong, somersaults all day long. Brandon is getting more and more intrigued at how much she moves!
Food cravings: Went to the grocery store for milk. Came back with Cinnamon toast crunch, lucky charms, cookies and cream ice cream, juice & a cute onsie. And yes I did remember the milk.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Watching my blood be drawn made me kind of light headed
Gender: Girl

Belly Button in or out? She's on her way out eek.
Wedding rings on or off? On :)

The Liebster Award

Some pretty great Ladies have nominated itty bitty baby beck for the Liebster Award! For those of you new to the blogging world, it's an award that gets passed around to new up and coming blogs to increase readership :) I started this blog to document my pregnancy->Birth->Baby so that in the end I can have a book printed for her to look back at when it's time (someday a LONG time from now) to have her own baby, just like my mother did for me. I had no idea how much I'd enjoy blogging and definitely plan on continuing after Baby A gets here :) So here goes nothing!
A little bit about me
Jacee JoAshton Beck

My husband Brandon and I this past summer pre Baby A :)

11 random facts about me
1. I am an avid animal lover. Born a farm girl, moved to the city & took as many animals with me as possible without looking like an animal hoarder. Currently at the Beck household we have our two Springer Spaniels Wrigley and Lewis & bunnies Scout and Scarlet. (Losing this past year our other beloved pets Zeke Brandon's childhood Springer (19yrs old) Summer our Bunny and Mr. Betta).

Top : My fav picture of the dogs: Zeke at 19yrs, Lewis 6 weeks & Wrigley 6 months
Bottom: Summer, Scarlet, Scout

2. I am an avid crafter, but my favorite thing to do is paint furniture! Anything and everything, my favorite place to find these diamonds in the rough is craigslist!
A few of my Beautys :)

3. When I was little I did a few beauty pagents, and when asked what I wanted to be when I grow up, I replied "a wife". Check.

4. I am owner and main only photographer at Jacee Beck Photography :) Weddings to Newborns I've shot it all and absolutely love what I do :) Check me out on facebook! www.facebook.com/jaceebeckphotography

5. I married my high school sweetheart. We started dating when I was 16 and he was 18 (right before he went off to college) Got engaged when I was 18, told our parents when I was 19 (they were shocked to say the least, my mothers exact words were "I'm not ready to be a mother-in-law yet!") haha miss her so. We got married August 14th 2010, I was 21 and Brandon was 24, almost three years later we will be welcoming our first baby girl into our family & could not be more excited!
One of the happiest days of my life.

6. One of my scariest experiences ever was cliff jumping in Jamaica on our honeymoon. Glad I did it. But NEVER AGAIN.

7. I'm semi fluent in French. And when I say semi fluent I mean, I can order a glass of wine. Three years of College French and at least I'll know how to properly get shnockered if I ever make it to France. Je voudrais une deux verres de vin blanc!!

8. I do NOT like dark pop. If I cannot see through it, I don't want it.

9.  The Beck's are Notre Dame fans. Brandon went to Holy Cross and I to Saint Mary's (brother/sister schools of the golden dome) We travel near and far to watch our Irish take the field!
Go Irish Go!

 10. I love being outside. Planting flowers, playing sports, exploring..the list could go on for days, there is nothing better than fresh crisp air and the cruch of dirt under your feet (usually barefeet) ;)

11. The person who has had the largest most profound impact on my life was my mother. She molded and shaped me into the person I am today, enstilling in me the love and compassion for all living things, the desire to celebrate all of lifes little achievements & the bitterweet reminder of just how precious life is.  She gave me and my two siblings, Jory & Jamison the best childhood we could have asked for, and with my dad set an amazing example for us as to how a marriage should work. She was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in february of 2010 and passed away that November. She was 45. I miss her every second of every day and am constantly reminded of how amazing she would have been as a grandmother. Adelie will grow up with stories and pictures of her GiGi Barbie (because there is no way my mom would have let anyone call her grandma ;) & all I can hope for is that I can be a fraction of a mother to Adelie that my mother was to me.
My favorite picture of my mom & I before Senior Prom in 07

I also wouldn't be where I am today without the love from my best friends who have been connected to my hip since grade 3 :)

Now onto the 11 questions asked by the lovely ladies of
&

1. What have I changed since realizing I'm about to become a momma?
I sleep more often, I eat way more often and my crafting has been kicked up 20x. I mean think of all the possible hairbows..outfits...room deor....

2.  Describe your fashion style.
I am a magpie. Anything bright/shiny/sparkly I am attracted to it. My closet is literally a rainbow explosion, and the brighter the better :)

3. What is your favorite Holiday?
It's a tie between Thanksgiving & Christmas, for two obvious reasons. FOOD & FAMILY

4.What do you do to relax?
I simply curl up onto my couch with my three boys and watch Law and Order SVU

5.If you could relive a day in your life again, which would it be and why?
That would be the day I found out I was pregnant. I had tons of amazing ideas on how I had planned on telling Brandon. Instead I just called him and blurted it out. I'd definitely like to redo that important moment in our lives haha

6.What do you never leave the house without?
My iphone. I hate that I'm so dependent on it but will be the first to admit I am. I had a shattered screen for 4 months becuase I couldn't bear the thought of leaving it at a store for 2 hours while they fixed it. Sad. I know.

7.What's your favorite season and why?
It's a toss up between Fall and Summer. I love warm weather, shorts and tall ice cream cones but you can't beat a crackling fire, oversized sweatshirts and ugg boots

8. If you could go anywhere, where would it be and who would you take with you?
On my bucket list is to travel to Washingtons coast and whale watch. I think that would be one of the most surreal experiences, as for my accomplice? That would be my Aunt JoLynn, my mom's youngest sister and one of my best friends. We have the same knack for random adventure.

9.What has suprised you about motherhood?
Since I'm not quite there yet.. the thing that has suprised me the most so far, is how much of my mother comes out in me in preparing for this baby. The extra shopping, obsessive organizing & serious documenting just to name a few.

10. What do you enjoy most about blogging?
I've always been an avid writer and I love that friends and family can keep up with my busy life even though they may be states away :)

11. What is one goal you are currently trying to achieve?
Finishing the nursery before my first baby shower on April 20th :) Right on track with that goal!

The blog I would like to nominate
will be added very shortly as it
has yet to hit the www but
I promise it will be worth
the wait :)

So much sweetness

If there is one thing I would love to be, it would be a stay at home crafter. I lovelovelove making pretty things, painting old furniture and finding new uses for old treasures.
Here are a few diy projects I am recently obsessing over
(I'll post more later this week, because as I was crafting last night, I somehow forgot I was pregnant and ended up practically falling asleep at my craft table)
1.The cutesy fabric flower headband

What you'll need:
1. Fabric of your choice 1/2 yard is plenty. 2. Scissors 3. Glue Gun/Sticks 4. Thin Elastic (found at any craft store) 5. Embellishments if you so choose 6. Stiff Felt (not pictured)

1.Make a one inch cut so that your cutting hotdog style
2. Rip
3.Pay attention that your rip is keeping somewhat straight. You'll end up with a one inch wide, one yard long piece of fabric.
4.Fold your strip in two, placing a small dab of glue at the start to hold your fabric together.

5.Roll the first two inches tight to create the center of your flower.
6. Start twisting your fabric loosely and wrapping it around your tight beginning.
7. Every few turns place a small drop of glue to help keep your flower together.
8.Once your flower is as big as you desire (mine was a little over an inch across) place a small dab of glue to hold your end. The underside of your flower will have a horn stick out. Cut it off, so that your flower is flat.

9. The back of your flower once the horn is cut off.
10.Scatter hot glue over the entire back of the flower.
11.fold over a piece of the left over fabric, and cut off the excess.
12. Waalaa! You have made a super cute fabric flower :)

13. Once you've made a few flowers, gather them in the order you desire.
14.Flip them upside down and hot glue the backs together.
15. Place your premeasure elastic right in the middle of your hot glue, place more glue on top of your elastic.
16. Press a piece of felt firmly on the glue to sandwhich in your elastic. Once the glue is dry, simply trim off the excess felt and you have yourself a so so so cute new headband for your little gal :)

Place your headband around any round object to help shape your elastic

Modeled by my cute pup Wrigley

The o-so-cute Onesie
(easily can be transfered to a tshirt for little girls)

What you'll need:
1.Colored Onesie 2. Two cereal bowls 3. Glue Gun/sticks 4. White fabric paint 5. Round tool (I used the end of a foam paint brush) 5. Some of those cute fabric flowers your just made!

1. Place the cereal bowl square onto the kneck of your onesie.
2. Dip your tool into your fabric paint and lightly press onto your onesie (dont press too hard, and start in the middle of your onsie so your pearls are even)
3. Place dots about a half inch apart, creating as many strands of pearls as desired.
4. Hot glue a few flowers to one side of the kneck, stand back and admire the cuteness.

I cannot wait to dress baby A up in all this sweetness :)
Enjoy crafty ladies!
