week 31

This week has been the most eventful week thus far in my pregnancy.  Continuing on my last post, by Thursday morning I was still having contractions (about 6/hour) and they were uncomfortable enough to prompt me to call my Dr. who in turn sent me across to the hospital.  They hooked be up to several different monitors to monitor both me and the wee one.  My coworker Melissa was kind enough to sit with me for a while because if I had been by myself I may have would have lost it. Once hooked up to the monitor we watched as the little black line jumped up and down on the screen. Not drastic enough to be a labor contraction, but something defiantly was going on. They did a few other tests on me to determine if I had a bladder infection or was at risk for delivering within the next few weeks. Those came back negative.    Thank god.
Next came the PA to check my cervix. Still closed. Another Thank god. She told me that I have an irritable uterus. A what? That's right folks. My uterus is irritated.  In an attempt to calm it down they gave me 2 liters of fluids through my first ever IV. Ouch. My arm was very cool from all the fluids flooding in me.  Somewhere between, let me do some tests on you and I'm going to stick this cotton swab up your lady parts, Melissa gladly went back to work across the street and my Mother in Law took her place.  Since work was so incredibly busy for Brandon, he was at the mercy of texting. Which he did every few minutes. Boy was he worried about his girls :)
Once I was finished with the fluids they discharged me and sent me home on strict instructions to drink lots of water and rest. rest. rest. Do they know who I am? Resting is not easy for me to do.  Once home I had a few questions about my irritated uterus so I did some research.  Apparently I will just have to endure these mild contractions (they are not labor inducing, so relatively harmless however extremely uncomfortable).  I am supposed to stay off my feet as much as possible and try to relax. Off my feet. ayiyiyi.  If it must be done.
It must be done.

Last night

was an eye opener. Literally. My eyes wouldn't close. Around 6:30pm I started experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions, which normally is not a big deal since I've been experiencing them on and off for the past several weeks. Except these were different. They didn't go away and they were more intense than all the previous. I went to bed around 9:30 and woke up around 3:30am with a terribly hard stomach and a feeling I can only describe as being incredibly uncomfortable, hot, wanting to cry and throw up all at the same time. My body was contracting. Talk about making me a nervous nancy. I'm roughly 30.5w or 32.5 weeks give or take. Itty Bitty is not done cooking quite yet, she needs to stay put. Since my tossing, turning and deep breathing also woke Brandon up, we had a small talk at 3:30am that I need to take a chill pill on my crazy lifting-furniture painting-photo snapping-obsessive cleaning-onthego lifestyle so I don't jump into preterm labor. Even though she's more than likely going to come early, she needs to stay put for at least another 7ish weeks. You know you're doing too much when your husband puts you on bedrest chair rest. Even though it's extremely hard for me to sit around, if it must be done. It must be done. Contractions have started to subside, so we're pretty sure i'm in the clear for now but if you need me, I'll be constructing tissue poms from my glider in the nursery ;)

Week 30

Whoa. Baby. I feel like this week we have hit so many milestones! Officially ten weeks left before my due date! That means tomorrow is 9 weeks 6 days to go. ((singledigitweeks))! Baby girl is making her decent into her final position, and her feet have been kicking my ribs like no tomorrow! She is estimated at about 17 inches long and 3.5lbs. However, right now she feels a little more like 10lbs of sugar in a 5lb sack.  Seriously though, girls running out of room. My gut feeling says baby A will definitely be making her appearance before I can reach 40w. Thursday itty bitty had hiccups 5 times. Yes. five seperate times. My belly was shaking all day long :) Went to the salon on thursday, and I am proud to say I no longer have grey in my hair ;) The weather has been less than desirable, raining everyday for the past week & flooding several roads. My 30 week apt is today at 1! Anxious to see how things are progressing and excited because from here on out I will be going every two weeks! EEeee! Two months left!

Week 29

Baby A has graduated from a large head of cabbage to a butternut squash! Girl is growing by leaps and bounds but can no longer actually leap and bound in there. Feeling her whole body move in my expanding belly is still completely surreal. For the past week itty bitty has been oblique meaning her head is down but turned toward my left hip. Which means I get strong kicks to my right ribOuch. In an attempt to be efficient, I chose to go all over blonde at my salon instead of getting my usual highlights. Great idea in my head, however I had a few parts which turned semi ashy in color. Not thrilled about being 24 with grey hair, but they're lifting it again for free99 next week and
Brandon get's to experience being married to an older looking woman.-Ha.
This weekend my baby brother turns 21! Crazy. Happy Birthday Jory!  I am spending every waking minute working on the nursery, which will. be. done. on. sunday. or. else. Unfortunely I will have to break away at some point to go shopping for some baby shower apparel! Lot's of tears shed there.. ;) With three coming up on back to back weekends starting next saturday, I better get going! I don't think sweat pants and crew neck sweatshirts would be appropriate.. In other news, I am finally able to reveal the news that my cousin, which is really my secondcousinbymarriage (but who really keeps tabs on those things), is expecting her first baby! She has also started a blog which you can read here. So excited for all the new family members born this year! Comeeeonnn June!
29 weeks

Disclaimer: My intuition tells me I will go early, closer to my origional due date of June 13th. If this is so, I have roughly 9 weeks to get everything accomplished on my list! And landscape the house ;)
Big Brother Wrigley

Cousin Roxann got to feel baby A moving ;)

Best moment this week: moving the furniture into the nursery (on the carpet!) and finally getting a vision of how it will look!
Miss Anything? Energy. Although I think I have a significant amount, realistically I get tired fast :(
Movement: Constant shifting, actually felt her hands yesterday.

Nursery Update

This will be the last nursery update before I take you on the final reveal tour! :) The carpet was finally laid monday am. I was one happy happy girl. Yes, just like I had visioned so many times before, as soon the carpet guy left got semi close to the front door I was already sprawled out in the nursery doing snow angels on that shaggy unbelievebly soft grey carpet. It's a good thing no one was around to capture that moment on film, and the dogs keep greeeaaat secrets. Because I probably looked like a complete crazy person. The nursery furniture is now all in the same room (finally) and I will be starting on wall decor and detailing this weekend tonight, becuase let's get real, I never realllly stop crafting for her room.... ;)
Without further adieu
