Maternity Photos

One thing I totally regretted with my first pregnancy, was that I never had my own maternity photos taken. I take photos of beautiful pregnant ladies but didn't make time for myself to have them taken.
Mirror selfless just aren't the same ;)
This time I ordered a gorgeous dress for Adelie and myself, whipped up a flower crown and enlisted the help of a few photog friends of mine.
The plus side of having photog friends is getting to edit your own photos ;)

So Saturday we headed to Holland to snap a few photos- Once we pulled in and opened the doors we realized just how challenging this was going to be! It was SO SO SO cold! And ridiculously windy! I knew I could tough it out, but Adelie was another story. I only let her be out of her blanket for a few shots. We're going to try again next week for a few more with Adelie :)

34 weeks

week 33

Sweet sweet girl, there are only 40 days left until your expected arrival!
40 days and 40 nights.
Although letsbehonest-you're not really going to make me wait the full 40 days right?
I've hit the pregnancy brick wall. My back hurts and I'm ready to have my normal body back.  After our trip to IKEA yesterday, your nursery is officially complete!
Our Ikea trip consisted of me and my good friend Amelia (who's also pregnant-due in August) piling Adelie and Josiah (who are 3m apart) into the car, driving 2hours to detroit-indulging in a fabulous lunch (including PEAR CIDER!) Something I have been craving so very very badly since last fall-4 full hours of retail therapy-a delightful snack before the drive home followed by packing the kiddos and 4 hours worthy of retail therapy packages into the car.
We almost had to strap one kid on top of the car. kidding. maybe.
There was a doctor check up this week and Im measuring right on time. With Adelie I was always measuring a week or two early! I have a few feelings about A
1.She isn't going to be as big as her sister
2. Im going to go early
&
3. My water actually breaks and labor is spontaneous
That last one is more or less a hope but I have a good feeling ;)

In Big Sister news, she officially gave the okay for baby A to come out and play. I've been asking her if she'd like her sister to come out yet and it's always been no-up until a few days ago ;)  She is growing so big and talking nonstop-crazy amounts of sentences too! Everything continues to have an "i.e." on the end-workie, milkie, juicie etc. After lunch and dinner she runs to the couch and says "nuggle with you?" YES. of course I will always nuggle with you Adelie!
She can also count to fries.
One. Two. Three. Fries.
We have been having quite the girls weekend, since B has been out of town for work. Soaking up every last second of Ads and mommy time.
Que the emotions Jacee.
This pregnancy, I have been so incredibly emotional. Just thinking about the idea of us not being a family of three anymore brings me to tears.
I just last week felt like I might actually be able to handle two!
Great timing right? About a month to go and I am just now feeling confident about bringing a new baby into our home. Up until now, my belly has gotten bigger, I feel the kicks, she has a name but it hasn't really hit me that there is actually a baby at the end of all of this.
Someone recently asked me when I knew it was the right time for number 2. Honestly, I knew it was going to take 9 months and figured I would just be ready by then. We wanted them about 2 years apart so we would just go for it and get ready in that 9 months. I think that plan worked pretty good ;)
We're ready for you A.B.K.B :)
Just like Big Sister and mama
double middle name ;)

ps If you're pregnant and are in need of amazingly comfy pants run don't walk to Target!!
I have been living in these!!

we got to visit with Granny and JoJo and this little fur ball! The sadness in Adelies face would be from realizing she will never get to have a kitty because Daddy is allergic… :(

Someone is SUPER excited for all the baby gear that has been coming out of hiding ;)

And a painting to tie in A's room!

week 32

Really feeling pregnant.
Back aches, out of breath, tired.
We are entering the home stretch and the reality that we will actually be bringing another baby girl into this world in a few weeks has officially hit me. I should say more like, the giant todo list for bringing home baby has hit me.  I've been much more laid back this time around but it is officially time to kick things into gear and brace myself for the busy-ness of an almost 2 year old and a newborn. Orders and photos are almost completely caught up on and we are getting very close to my cut off date for both of those.  This week I freehanded the crib skirt, bringing in yet another color to the nursery ;)
This next week my biggest goal is to finish the nursery completely and wash the baby gear getting everything set up. My crafting ADD has been kicking into overdrive and I have projects scattered throughout the house-time to finish them!
Still todo:
Finish nursery
Freezer meal prep
Purchase a few baby items that need replacing
Get the carpets cleaned
Do a thorough deep clean and get caught up on laundry (the struggle is real)

This week, we got the scary news that Papa Ron was in the hospital! He needed to have his appendix removed! They had some problems removing it, so he had to stay in the hospital a few extra days, but he is now home and recovering! Thank god! Being forced to rest up and stay down is not easy news to take especially since farming has started up again and they just closed on their new house! We'll see how long he stays down ;)

Next week my girlfriend Amelia and I are loading the kiddos up and heading to Detroit for an Ikea haul!  The trip should produce the few things missing from A's room-SO looking forward to a fun shopping day!

My dress came in this week! I didn't get maternity photos taken with Adelie because I was still taking photos for other people and so incredibly tired from doing those-I will be doing them this time and am SO excited!! :)

Probably the biggest excitement this week was when I finally pulled the trigger on the double stroller I've been saving for ;) I am so extremely giddy about this stroller and can't wait to take the girls out in it! I got Amethyst (my birthstone) because two GIRLS will be riding in it!
The other item I have purchased to transition to two kids is the Summer Double Monitor- two separate cameras that I can view on one monitor-bonus-you can add up to two more cameras! So I can watch all cameras at the same time or switch between individual cameras :)

The snap chat I got while visiting Papa in the hospital haha

Too perfect not to include. We've been letting Adelie sleep in our bed because I think it's hit both of us that she won't be an only child for too much longer, so family snuggles it is :*)

And a Happy Birthday To Jory!
PS that is totally not his beard ;)
The new yellow chair for A's room!

And the crib skirt!

We won a contest on instagram for this adorable baby set! The pants are SO little!

Adelie is beyond obsessed with going for gull car rides with daddy and picking up the balls for him- and I'm pretty sure gull car rides will be what sends me into labor ;)

Week: 32

Weight Gain: up 30lbs

Cravings: Apple juice, milk, muffins, cheese

Clothing: sweats & tank tops because its warm!!

Best Moment this week: Putting the crib skirt on the crib and placing the order for the new stroller! :)

Miss Anything? The ability to wear pants/sweats without my belly hurting! She's definitely dropped and the elastic now hurts-new pants/shorts hunting soon because its still not full warm enough to only wear maxi dresses.

Movement? She feels large just like her sister-hoping I go about 37.5ish weeks so I don't have another 9lber ;)

Anything making me sick or queasy? Nope

Mood: Exhausted. I close my eyes for a second and I pass out.

Looking forward to: Our girls (+boy) day trip to Ikea! Making my list now!

week 31

This was a BIG week! Not only was it Easter, but it was also wedding week for Papa Ron & Grace.  So on Thursday we made the trek down to an Indiana courthouse with the family for the wedding :)  It was an overcast day and a little drizzly but thats just holes in the floor of heaven right?
It was a bittersweet day, but Grace makes my dad so happy and she is the perfect fit for our family and we couldn't be happier she is now a part of our clan. :)
<3
Easter we spent at nana and papa Beck's. The easter egg hunt was much more interesting this year as Adelie zipped here and there shrieking every time she found an egg! Girl was on a mission, B and I just tagged along behind making sure she didn't get her dress too dirty ;) It was so much fun, and she had so much fun with her cousins (they don't all get to be together very often unfortunetly-but they play so well together!)
In pregnancy news-I'm feeling SO very large and am so thankful for my new Maternity clothes I recently purchased because they are thee only thing that fits these days.  Little girl is definitely working her way down and I am waddling around like a duck. It's as pretty as it sounds ;)  I don't remember feeling this pregnant with Adelie- but then again I wasn't chasing around a toddler either ;)

Adelie got her first Barbie and Ken dolls from Gma Carol for Easter and she spent the next several days making them walk and talk to each other with the occasional kiss-quite possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen

a peek into the nursery!
a YELLOW crib?
Originally going to be Mint, but a last min decision was made to make it canary yellow

I hid Adelie's Easter Basket on top of our cupboards, but the day before Easter ol sharp eyes spotted Elsa (Salsa) sticking out the top and went bazerk so we just gave it to her ;) She literally squealed the entire time, as it was filled with frozen items. Her favorites included a Salsa doll that quite literally belts "Let it go", a bunny book by one of my favorite Authors Richard Scarry, a tube of bubbles, some play doh and a couple Frozen tshirts.

Missing cousin Liam!

Week: 31

Weight Gain: up 28lbs

Cravings: Fruit, sweets, cold beverages, Spicy things-but all of a sudden I can't take them!(hopefully that passes!)

Clothing: sweats. Brandon's sweats.

Best Moment this week: Painting the crib and getting it reassembled in A's room!

Miss Anything? The ability to hang with the big kids and partake in festivities! With this warmer weather coming in the urge to enjoy a glass of wine/ice cold cider on the patio is strong!

Movement? Strong jabs-girls running out of room!

Anything making me sick or queasy? Nope

Mood: a times emotional-way more hormones this time!

Looking forward to: Is it too early to say June?
