Week 3

I finally got my hands on a computer and therefore my posts can start being more frequent and in a timely manner! Babes is officially 3 weeks old, which is almost a whole month old! Crazy talk. We could see a HUGE change in her this week. All of a sudden she is going through a growth spurt, eating all the time, and awake so much more. This whole being awake more business is quite comical. She makes the best faces and has some of the most interesting squeaky-noises I've ever heard! She also does one mean mean-mug. I cannot possibly pinpoint where she gets it from she gets it from me. This week she met two very handsome boys, Jaxson her second cousin and Liam her first cousin! Brandon was in Colorado for almost the whole week for a wedding, so I packed up Adelie, the boys and ALL of their gear and we visited a ton of people and spent the night at both grandparents houses. It was nice to visit everyone but we were so happy once Brandon got home and we had our family back.  He could not believe how much she had changed in just a few days. People are definitely not joking when they say "they grow up so fast".
Ads please stay itty bitty forever.

Age: 3 weeks
Weight: 10lbs
Height: 22 inches
Eating: She is eating about every 3 hours. 100% BF
Baby's Sleep: Sleeping great! Waking up two times to feed at night.
Mom's Sleep: Sleeping okay, although I feel like I never achieve the deepest sleep because I'm always listening for her. Might try her in her own crib this week? or not...
Dad's Sleep:
Milestones Reached: She shows a TON of emotion and is really starting to chatter. She turns her head towards me when I talk and she laughed out loud twice this week.
Outings: Traveled to Union City, Belmont and Kalamazoo, it's a good thing she's a super easy baby because mom does not know how to slow down, we are on the go all the time!
Nicknames: Ad's, Babes, Miss Ad's,  tootsie, sweetie
Other notes: So far she is a super easy baby, she eats on demand, hardly ever cries and is pretty content just looking around and being near me.  I feel 100% back to normal  (sure hope my next pregnancies go like this :S) and am completely loving this new love in my life.

Week 2

This is real life.  We are a family of three.  I kind of have to keep telling myself this, because as natural as it feels, it sorta feels like I'm babysitting her. I am a mom. Surreal.  Completely mind blowing still and yet I absolutely LOVE it :)  I could stare at her for hours. She is starting to make the funniest faces and grows so much every day! We had our second apt this week for her and the Dr. says he is VERY impressed with her weight gain and overall appearance :)  Monday a few of my mom's best friends came up and stayed with us, and cleaned our whole house! What a Godsend :) We didn't do a whole lot the rest of the week, choosing to soak up every spare second we could of just being lazy together. And We may or may not have burnt through the whole Harry Potter collection over the past few days... ;)  Quite possibly the best day this week was when Adelie met her Uncle Jory who drove up with his girlfriend Nancy to finally meet her :) Babes got her first taste of the CC as we went twice this week, meeting Brandon after golf.  Girl slept the whole time in her stroller while I attempt to catch up on my summer glow.  Since neither of us can get in the pool yet, so we just stared at it. Is it 6 weeks yet?  We also got some super exciting news this week, that Adelie's cousin Liam will be here by this next weekend, and we cannot wait to meet him!!  Ads also got a few pictures taken this week, and her announcements have been ordered, can't wait to send them out to all our family and friends!! :)

Nothing smells better :)

Protective Big Brothers

Grandma Margaret gave her the first bottle so mom could enjoy a Chi Chi ;)
BTW she takes a bottle without confusion and even drinks it cold? Awesome!
The first gender Specific onesies I bought without knowing she was a girl :)

One of my favorite pictures ever :)

With Aunt Jam and my goddaughter Sophie

We also made a few headbands...

Meeting Uncle Jory

Grocery Shopping

I cannot believe She fit in my belly 2 weeks ago

She can't either

On the 4th I let Scarlet out in our backyard as I sometimes do. And...I forgot about her. The fireworks on top of turning the dogs out to find her at 11pm led to us going to bed without her inside.  Walked outside the next morning to a man driving around in a van, who just happened to pull up as I was walking outside and asked me if I knew of anyone who was missing a rabbit. I probably looked like an idiot as my arm shot up and I shouted ME!!! She had made it across the street and into someones fenced in back yard. We're glad she's home, Babes was worried.

Her 4th of July getup :)

Happy 2 weeks Babes!

Age: 2 weeks
Weight: 8.11lbs
Height: 22 inches
Eating: She is eating about every 2-3 hours, 100% breastfeeding
Baby's Sleep: Sleeping great! She sleeps for a few hours and then is bright eyed for about 30min, eats and repeats.  Diaper changes wake her up everytime
Mom's Sleep: Only felt super tired one day this week, babes got her nights and days mixed up and was up all night, not crying just squeaking and squirming. And I cannot possibly sleep when she's making those sweet noises next to my bed :) Dad was a gem though and took her downstairs at 6am and let me sleep in a little
Dad's Sleep: Dad sleeps.
Milestones Reached: She uses her hands a lot now, touching her binky and touching my chest when eating.  Lifts her head for about 10 seconds before getting too tired. Lost her umbelical cord.
Outings: To the pool twice and ran a few errands with mommy. Saw first fireworks!
Funny Moment: During her first bath, when placed on her flower, she did number 2. I picked her up, she did number 1 all down my side, I rinsed her off and went to sit down where she threw up all down the front of me. AND I still love her.
Nicknames: Ad's, Babes, and Miss Ad's :)

Week 1

Life with a newborn. That is exactly why I have been absent in the blogging world these past few weeks :) The Beck household is finally getting into the swing of things being a family of three and visitors are finally starting to slow down.  We are completely loving our new addition and Adelie is making this transition unbelievably easy. She is SUCH a good baby :) I got a ton of flack from my coworkers when I would joke that she wasn't going to cry and she would always sleep through the night. Well, ((knock on wood)) she hardly ever cries and sleeps a good majority of the night, waking up to feed every 3 or so hours. I'm starting to feel better post delivery, the first couples days...yikes and yowza. Itty bitty had her first drs. apt last week, June 25th at 3 days old and weighed in at 8.2lbs and 21 1/2 inches, by her nurses visit on Thursday she was already up to 8.7lbs. She is such a healthy happy baby, and girl's got a great appetite ;)

She's a little long for newborns, but too skinny for 3m.
She's more Newborn Tall

I could kiss those cheeks all day long :)
June 26th was daddy's Birthday :)
And you were the BEST present ever!

Happy One Week Birthday Babes!

Age: 1 week
Weight: 8.7lbs
Height: 21 1/2 inches
Eating: She is eating about every 2 hours, 100% breastfeeding
Baby's Sleep: Sleeping great! Sleeps most of the day and wakes up a few times at night to eat usually every 2-3 hours.
Mom's Sleep: Not sleep deprived yet, on somewhat of a baby high :) The first night home, I slept beside her crib on the floor, then with her in my arms on the floor, then in the chair with her in my arms, can't get enough of her!
Dad's Sleep: I may delete this category soon because let's face it, dad could sleep through anything, and does ;)
Milestones Reached: She is very alert when awake and towards the end of the week really started using her hands to comfort herself whether it be to touch her face or hold onto her binky (yes she already has a binky, no nipple confusion either!) Had her first sponge bath at home.
Outings: First restaurant and first shopping outing to the mall with Papa R and Aunt Jam
Funny Moment: Baby may or may not have latched onto dad, as she was laying on his bare chest. I had to run upstairs to a screeching Brandon holding her a few inches above his chest ;)
