Baby Play Date

I have wanted to start a mommy/baby play group for a long time, and since most of the babies we know are now sitting up/crawling, it seemed like the best time to start one! So once a month we will take turns hosting a little play date where the babies can interact and play, while the moms can talk about what milestones they're reaching and give advice. This month we traveled to Kzoo to my cousin Brittney's house we we fine dined on pizza while watching the little ones stare intently at one another and then freak out over all the new toys to play with!  After a lunch break for the wee ones, we of course dove into pictures because we all know I never leave the house without my camera.  Especially when I have four cute babies at my fingertips! seriously twist my arm ;)
Sure there was plenty of chain reaction crying, and a mid playdate nap for everyone except
you know who
but it was SO much fun and we are really looking forward to next month :)

Week 39

Adelie has officially been out of my belly as long as she was in it! Since she was technically born before her due date* (debatable) of 6.24.13.  Out of all the milestones she has reached thus far, week 39 has been the one for the books.  She is now cruising around in one speed, extra fast, pulling herself up on any and everything in sight. At first it was sort of nerve wrecking, but after a few days she is very sturdy and knows that if she lets go, she will fall.  And so starts the period of bumps and bruises! We are still battling nap time/bedtime as no-nap Adelie continues to conquer, which makes for extremely long days and lot's of housework that is going undone. Poor Brandon is scraping the bottom of the sock drawer and our pillowcases that, have actually been clean for a week now, have yet to make it back on the pillows. Note to self, do this tonight.
We have started to incorporate Stage 3 foods into her diet. Which, by the way, are MUCH thicker and chunkier than Stage 2!  I have been attempting to give her small pieces of soft veggies/fruits, but the texture freaks her out and she starts gagging or shuddering. So, we'll come back to those. One of the four teeth is finally through, and another just broke this am. She has a baby Madonna gap in her two front teeth and she loves to smile just enough to let them peek out from under her top lip. Makes my heart explode with happiness.  Little crocodile  :) We are still working on "Dada" but as of now, "Mama" "Baba" "Gaga" and "Oink" are her go-to words.
On Friday, both Adelie and I were filmed for a product review for the Sassy Baby bathtub! Basically I gave Adelie a bath and we played with toys in the water while being filmed.  Our little shoot will be featured on the babiesrus website for the Sassy Baby Tub! It was so fun, we both really enjoy these little modeling gigs :)
In carseat news, She is much more comfortable now that she can stretch out in her big girl seat. The bad news, when she falls asleep, I can no longer just tote her into a store :( We have skipped the grocery store twice last week. So we're also scrapping the bottom of the barrel in the food dept. as well ;)
I realized her first Birthday is less than 3 months away, yesterday while filling out her baby calendar.
Talk about an emotional train wreck.
However, I have started the planning, following in my mothers footsteps ;)
Thank you god for giving us the sweetest little girl to call ours. Our hearts have never been more full and she brings us so much happiness! xo

After our Sassy Shoot! :)

And like the rest of the world, we are obsessed with Frozen! :)

Week 38

sickness hit our house this past week, first myself and then Adelie by the the weekend. It could not have picked a worse time. With Adelie figuring out just how fast she can actually crawl and how much fun it is to pull herself up in her crib, feeling under the weather was not an option. Thank you NyQuil. The best sleep you'll ever get with an active baby a cold medicine.  While I was busy blowing my nose in bed and swigging chicken noodle soup by the can, Adelie used her new found freedom to perfect the art of NOT NAPPING and crib partying. Why would you nap when there are so many more fun things to do? P.S. this also means she also has no interest in bedtime. Brandon and I have literally sat in bed every night watching her on the monitor, sit up, stand up, talk, squeal, play with babies and stare straight into the monitor until her head becomes so heavy that she falls asleep sitting up and bends in two.  Then I have to sneak in and move her to a more comfortable position.  The good part? She's not cranky by any means.  She just simply does not want to sleep.  However fast forward to the end of the week/weekend I discovered that Ads is cutting four teefers! So ontop of a cold, poor baby girl was in pain.  Sunday night was the worst, as I rocked her in my arms until she finally fell asleep.  The first of the four has popped through and she seems to be in much better spirits in the teeth department :) While exhausting, this new phase is our favorite thus far :)

Her first time crawling forward!

No-Nap Adelie

She has been "visiting" her old carseat and wants so desperately to get in it :)
BTW she looks SO big next to it in this picture!!

Easter Eggs have become our favorite toy!

We also switched over to the BIG GIRL carseat! The Chicco Nextfit got the best reviews and we love it so far! Super comfy and it can recline for long car rides!

So naughty yet so cute ;)

The Boys also got a haircut
