Week 27

This week little miss Ads got to spend lots of time with friends and family and spend even MORE time playing with all her new toys!  She is still on the verge of sitting up by herself (without nose diving) and is having SO much fun playing with her light up vanity her aunt Erin got her :)  On Christmas Eve we experienced a noteworthy first.  When Brandon put his hands out to grab her from me...she turned away and hugged her mama.
Poor daddy.
She normally goes to anyone, so as soon as she did it we were in shock. I'd be lying if I said my heart didn't enjoy her clinging to me ;)  Eating has grown to be quite a challenge with little busy pants.  As soon as she gets a spoonful of baby food, she immediately whips her head from side to side as if she had missed something.  This usually happens before I can remove the spoon from her mouth, thus creating a trail of greeniebeanies across her face.
We're pretty sure the next two teethies will be coming sooner rather then later because the girl is going to town on Sophie and the flip side of her binky :)  This next week as we say goodbye to 2013, Brandon surprised us with our first family vaca to Florida in January!  I'm already starting to get slightly overwhelmed at the whole packing for a 6 month old and flying with everything.  I've seen those families several times at the airports, and I am determined to have everything condensed and as easy to carry as possible.  So excited to see Adelie on the beach in her new bathing suit ;)

Ads received LOTS of neon for Christmas. We didn't mind one bit ;)

In bedroom news, the walls are now a crisp white and we are anxiously awaiting our new bed so we can get to the decorating :)

My dads present to me was this amazing oragami owl necklace that held a little bit of everything I am :) Way to go Dad!

New garlands for a new year

Bad News. Brandon hit a deer with the hyundai. wah wah. Waiting to find out the damage on Monday. Will we be starting out the new year driving a new vehicle?

Christmas

Is it just me, or did Christmas sneak up say hi for 5 seconds and then jet out the door?  I cannot believe it has come and gone already! Confession: We didn't even get to half of our December todo list. I guess theres always next year ;) We also did not set out milk and cookies because Brandon Santa ate them all days before the big day. What we did do, was wake up Christmas day as a very blessed and thankful family of three (technically 7 with the fur babies).  We helped Adelie  opened all of Adelie's presents and showed them to her, because she didn't really grasp the whole present opening concept.  She barely made it to the end of opening our presents before it was time for her morning nap.  Once she woke up we began the trek down state to my parents house. My favorite house.
Adelie was so spoiled by my Dad, Siblings and Grandma.  Lot's of light up toys and warm, bright and fuzzy outfits :)  We had so much fun visiting and just hanging out for the day, I wish we lived closer. Yes, An hour and a half is too far.  My dad even made us an amazing feast! A chicken & stuffing dish, mashed potatoes and veggies. Yum!  Stretchy leggings were a great choice to wear to Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner ;)
We have been so blessed this past year and could not be more thankful for everything and everyone in our lives :)
We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas!
& we are
SO excited for what 2014 will bring!
But first we MUST hit up all the after Christmas Sales to stock up for next year! ;)

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was spent as it has been for the last 8 years. Holy cow its been that long. We go to Brandon's parents on the 24th, eat a phenomenal feast, mingle and then go back for seconds thirds. This year was prime rib, twice baked potatoes and Lobster tail and it was SO incredibly mouth watering-pant loosening-good. This year was also so much better then any of the previous 8. You think to yourself, Christmas could not possibly get any better then it was when you were a child. That analogy is completely wrong. It gets SO much better!! Christmas shopping is much more fun, and watching their eyes widen and hearing the giggles of excitement, makes my heart explode!
Plus the toys are so much better then grown up gifts ;)
