Once a year we pack up our cars and head to either Illinois or Wisconsin to meet up with part of our family who live in Minnesota. This year the location of choice was Elgin, Illinois. So on Friday morning Adelie, myself, my cousin Elaina (who is a Fresh at Grand Valley) and Jamison piled into the tucson and we embarked on the 3.5 hour car ride. Adelie did great! But then again she did have Aunt Jam in the backseat playing the whole time ;) Our trip was full of laughs, bingo, food and of course shopping! Our mall of choice was huge, as in multiple multiple levels with lots of stairs and trap doors. Completely annoying for a mother with a stroller. Halfway through our excursion, we threw our hands up and just started carrying the stroller up and down the stairs. Adelie made her first build-a-bear lamb at the mall, and she loved every minute of it, aside from picking out its heart (to which she promptly cried). We named her Lilly because I had a lamb as a baby with that name :) Bingo was as outrageous as ever, followed by Left Right Center keeping both the adults and babies up wayyyy past our 9pm bedtime. By the way trips are SO much more fun when you have babies! Jax and Adelie we so fun and provided lots of laughs for the whole fam :)
I visited my first Ikea everrrr and was completely overwhelmed. That is one store you need an entire day to visit! I walked around for a good 30min trying to find the checkout, as all arrows pointed me in a circle. literally. To anyone who has never been, The checkout is in the basement.
For my Aunt Deb's big 5-0 birthday we all went in on a Coach purse. She unwrapped it prior to Bingo and said thank you looking it over-her eyes finally fell upon the label to which she exclaimed "COooAaAcCcHhHhH?!?!"
Just like that. We lost it. Happy Birthday Deb!
It feels like we always just get there and it's time to leave. 6am on Sunday Adelie and I were back in the car headed for Michigan & Easter with our Beck Family. (That's a whole other post) It was so nice to see everyone (even though we were missing quite a few this time :( ) and we are looking forward to our next get big get together-June for the big FIRST BIRTHDAY!
