Florida in pictures

we all know I take a LOT of pictures, so week 30/Florida will be broken up into two parts ;)
(After all, I do take pictures for a living)
Florida was SO much fun, and although it was pretty chilly <--In the 50s for most the week :( We had a great time!  Adelie really enjoyed the ocean. The waves were mesmerizing! We caught the sunset each night and were even able to squeeze in our first (crazy!!) family photo session.  One of my very good friends who lives in Orlando drove over to meet Ads and was so kind to snap some pictures on my camera! Thanks D!!

Our Vaca to Florida in pictures

The first day was extremely overcast and foggy!

So we hung out inside with all of our Florida Friends!

We stayed at our Friends family Beach condo. And our stay overlapped the last few days of Casey's Bachelorette Party weekend (second from right). We had so much fun with the girls! :)

Notice her painted piggies!

Right before she ate a HUGE handful of sand without flinching..

We stayed inside most days because of the cold

That would be a dolphin :)

Melts my heart!

How picture taking normally goes with Brandon.
10 pictures max. Once a year.

Week 29

Today we're leaving on a jet planeeeeee! Itty bitty will be flying on her first airplane ride! What a big girl! And speaking of Big girl, yesterday we had two big things happen,
She took 1 one hour nap ALL DAY
&
She officially has three 1/2 teefers!
I am still floored that she only had one nap yesterday. She was happy as a lark and 100% not tired. Crazy.
We also have moved onto Stage 2 foods since she can now sit up! SO much more fun then stage 1! Her favorites so far have been, mac & cheese, Vegetable beef, Chicken & rice and Apples bananas and strawberries.  There were about 20 different kids to choose from and we got one of each to try them all!

On Sunday we travelled to Art Van for the big KINGSIZEBED purchase!  Not gonna lie, mattress shopping is 100% awkward.  Laying on bed after bed while some sales guys stares at you is uncomfortable to say the least.  Brandon couldn't tell the difference in any of them, so he leet Ads and I pick it out ;)
Our first night sleeping on it, all 5 of us did. And no one was touching. <--also crazy.

We had to reschedule the dreaded 6m shots apt due to the snow, and we weren't even upset about it ;)

Miss Ads is also now obsessed with standing!  Granted she can't stand by herself for very long but her eyes light up and she gets a HUGE grin and looks around to see who's watching her. She attempts to get on all fours when she's on her belly and I know it won't be long before she's crawling :(

She also is NO longer allowed in her swing, yesterday we caught her reaching up and hanging on the mobile causing it to click click click click as it attempted to spin ;)

Stats
27"
19lbs

The last time we were in Florida I was 16 weeks pregnant ;)

Moved our old bed to the prop/craft room and we love it in there!!

I knew there was a reason I kept those ;)

Vacation-Packing for a baby

We fly out to Florida in 1 day.  As you've previously read, I am slightly overwhelmed at the whole concept of flying with baby and all her gear.  After reading a few articles online about what to bring and how to do it, I've composed a list of necessities to make our trip as hassle free as possible :)
Now each airline is different, but since we're flying Delta and Allegiant Air ,
(because they have HELLO great prices to Florida)
we are allowed to
Bring on Board with us:
1.Diaper Bag
2.Baby food/bottles
3.Check her stroller at the gate
4.Check Carseat/Base at the gate
5.A carry on for each of us
6.A personal item (Laptop/camera)

Adelie gets to sit on my lap during the flight since she is under 2 at no additional charge.
(insert heel kick)

We are Checking:
One Suite case, attempting to fill will all of our clothes/bath products
Attempting.

Now I, like most girls have a tendency to overpack.  I'm trying really hard to only pack the essentials, since we'll be at the beach a majority of the time, but the task proves harder then I imagined.

As for Adelie. We will be gone a total of 9 days. These are the essentials that I have come up with besides her wardrobe small stack of clothes.

Baby sunblock
Teething tablets<-just in case
Baby tylenol<-just in case
Baby wash/lotion (We love California Baby wash and J&J lotion;)
Baby Powder
A stack of bibs/a few baby spoons
Sunhat
Plastic bags(for soiled clothes/bibs if we are out and about)
Extra Binkies
Diaper rash cream (our fav is aquaphor)

This is what we have to work with. We absolutely love our City Mini and its designed for light weight travel.  Our Chicco carseat and base will sort of be a hassle, but we can check it at the gate and it snaps into the stroller to transport to and from the airplane. Her Diaper Bag is going to hold her toys, essentials and some ready made bottles for the trip.  We have a few carriers, but the Infantino is probably our favorite and we'll use it to transport her in the airport.

Tip
I've been reading up on how to make our take off go as smoothly as possible.  Since she cannot swallow on command, in order to protect her poor ears, they suggest either letting her suck on her binky or feed her a bottle.  I think we will attempt to feed her a bottle during take off, since you all know she tends to "oink" with her binky rather then suck on it ;)

The Line up

All hand selected by this cutie ;)

Wish us luck!
We are SO excited!

What defines you?

Earlier this week I came across a video on Facebook of Lizzie Velasquez.  A beautiful girl who was born with an extremely rare genetic disorder that does not allow her to gain weight.  She has spent her whole life weighing less than 64lbs and only has vision in one eye.  She was beaten down verbally by online bullies and taunted throughout school.  Even with all of the negativity and evil she has risen above it and become such an amazing influence for mankind.  Your image, home life, or financial standings do not have to define you.  You yourself, chose how you will live your life and what you will do in it.  I have been extremely inspired by this lovely lady, and admire her outlook and courage more than words describe.  Please take a few minutes and watch this video of Lizzie speaking at a Women's conference in Texas.
Don't let what others think and say define who you are or what you become.
What defines you?

Vlog-Arm Knitting

Arm knitting is something I've recently picked up and I thought it would be the perfect first vlog for 2014
It's so fun, easy and inexpensive. Not to mention they make the BEST gifts!
If you're wondering where Adelie was, she was down for her nap, but she promises she'll be present for the next one! Hope you enjoy, let me know if you have any questions or requests for next weeks vlog!

Week 28

Happy first Friday of the New Year!  This week I feel like Adelie has grown leaps and bounds! She can now officially sit up like a BIG GIRL!! :) She does occasionally tip over, but its usually because she leans forward for a toy, which means the next step is crawling! AHHHHH! She also can now stand  holding our hands! Up until now she has refused to stand, always curling her legs up under her like a frog.  I think its because she was so tucked up inside of me towards the end ;) Her hand eye coordination has also improved drastically. She's reaching for and grasping onto everything!
Like Lewis's lips.
Yesterday she really grabbed ahold of his upper lip, (Because he always lays right next to her).  He started whimpering and I had to pry her hand off. We're going to really start to watch her, so she doesn't beat up her brothers ;)
On Wednesday as we were sitting on the couch, Brandon was holding babes and I was repeating mamamamamamamamamamama trying to claim her 2nd word for myself, when she got frustrated with how Brandon was holding her and she shrieked out "MOM".  B & I whipped our heads and stared at each other. He said I couldn't count it because it was involuntary and she had no idea she said it. Ya, ok..
I used to think New Years resolutions were a huge waste of time because everyone always breaks them come Jan 2nd February, but I did see a movement amongst other bloggers this year, and we are hopping on the word train.  This year we have chosen the word
Patience
This is something Brandon and I both struggle with on the daily. We need things done nowrightthissecond.  All good things come to those who wait.  This year we will work on having more patience with each other and life in general.  Taking time to smell the roses and enjoy the small things.
Adelie has decided she will also work on her patience during Meal time.
We will make 2014 count by learning to love all that happens in our lives. The good, the bad and the ugly.  If we are patient with what god has given us, perhaps we will find the silver lining on even the most difficult days.  So CHEERS to 2014 and all the happiness it will bring :)

Stats:
19lbs
27.5"

I've started to pile all her babies on one side of her during naptime, to stop the little gymnast from rolling over!

Someone is VERY excited for Florida!!

P.S. we've started sharing accessories ;)

Going out Without Baby

When we found out I was pregnant we had a long conversation about how we were going to live our lives with a baby.  We both agreed that even though our Child would always come first, we needed to still make time for just the two of us.  We would not be one of those couples that fall out of sink after baby, loosing touch with friends and the lives that they used to live.
We decided that we needed to make a strong effort to attend get togethers and still have nights out on the town.  I'm not saying we go out every other night, and usually when we go out we end up looking at pictures in our phone of Adelie or we're laughing at the crazy amount of Adelie paraphernalia in my purse, but we do go out at least once a week even if it's just for dinner.  Not only does it give us Grown Up time, but Adelie also gets to spend time with her extended family.  We really wanted her to know each and every one in our family really well because we grew up extremely close to ours :)  And honestly it's like pulling pulling teeth to get her back from them ;)
We definitely cannot hang like the cool kids anymore, and if we make it to midnight we're giving
each other high fives
but for a few hours we get to out with our friends and act like kids again, only to wake up early in the morning to go pick up ours.  I'd like to think we've established the perfect balance.  Perhaps this all will change when we add more kiddo kiddos into our bunch and perhaps we're only able to get away with going out without baby because we only have one baby.  Whatever it is, we'll roll with it.  Maybe thats where Adelie gets her laid back personality from.
New Years Eve was our last outing without baby in 2013.
Yes we made it past midnight, and YES I was up at 8am the next morning driving to pick her up ;)
Happy New Years!
