Aria's Nursery Tour

I still can't believe I was able to keep her name a secret for as long as I did! Her nursery ended up being nothing like I had imagined, but am SO in love with how it turned out! Originally I was going with light pinks, creams and whites-but let's be real. I love color! The more the better-I've said it before, I am such a magpie. Anything bright colorful, shiny or sparkly, I'm all over it and filling my nest with it ;)
Without further adieu, welcome to

The coral stain from the paint big sister spilled-memories ;)

Week One

Seems like I was just writing this post with Adelie- And like usual, I'm posting way after the fact.
but i'll catch up eventually ;)
Aria had a touch of jaundice, so we had to wait for her labs to come back before they would let us go home. Can't believe we only spent one full day in the hospital after she was born before we were ready to bust out of there! The labs came back just slightly elevated, so they let us go home with instructions to have her labs drawn the next day-(those came back normal.)
The drive home was a tad to fast for me, but I think Brandon was experiencing some sort of cabin fever   because we made it home in record time.
Home.
As a family of four.
With Adelie we were scared out of our minds that first week. This seemed like second nature.  She is such a wonderful baby and sleeps all the time.  She is currently sleeping next to our bed in the raised pack and play, but I haul her into the bed periodically for snuggles and night time feedings (about every  2-3 hours)  a couple times big sister snuck in and we slept four across (including the pack and play).
We had a few visitors, but were honestly just enjoying our time alone.
Aria weighed 7.11lbs by the time we left the hospital and was back up to 8.4lbs at the first drs. apt.  She is a good eater! Smaller than her sister, she is in newborn diapers and clothes- most of which are brand new, as Ads was in that size, maybe a week if that.
I have forgotten a few things
1. Newborns are SO noisy! Squeaks, grunts, sighs-especially at night
2. Breastfeeding is pure torture for the first week. Ouch.
3. Baths are scary. They are so little and slippery& it is so nerve wrecking.
4. Post baby hormones- I cried at almost every baby card we received
Adelie for the most part doesn't pay her too much attention. She's been too busy with all of the new Big Sister presents people have brought her ;)
Life with two is not as scary as everyone made it seem. I think a big part of that has to do with the fact that both of these girls are ridiculously easy going-the biggest struggle is remembering to pack all the essentials when we leave the house. Literally double triple the packing. I may just pack a diaper bag for both and leave it in the car so I don't have to worry about it.
But seriously-for those of you contemplating if you can handle two, I would love to be the one to tell you it is not that difficult. It's all about balance and finding what works for you. And you will absolutely love your second just as much as your first :)

First Bath!

And because I could barely wait to start photographing this sweet babe, we started right away ;)

Her Announcement we mailed out :)

We also attempted grocery shopping just us three girls. I've gotta figure out something different, of we're going to be on a very limited diet ;)

Aria also had her first trip to the pool this week!

How I've loved seeing her in Adelie's old jammies!

"Mom! Sissy! Hand! Mom! Arrreeaaaahhhhh! Hannndd! Awwww!"
Melt me.

Cousins Will, Heather and Henry came to visit and take a few pictures for me and brought me these gorgeous peonies from her garden! And they smell amazing!!

We've survived the first week as a family of four. Praying it stays this easy and these girls don't grow up too fast :)
