Week 24

Boy December posts are hard to stay on top of! We have been crazy busy decking the halls, shopping for/making Christmas presents and attending Holiday Parties! Due to the fact that we've had quite a few babies over to the house recently for pictures, we FINALLY were able to put up our Christmas tree! (It blocks my huge window that I normally take pictures by;)  Adelie was mesmerized by all the glittery bulbs! Yes. 99% of the bulbs on our tree have either sequins or glitter on them. Would you have expected any different?  On Thursday I took pictures of little Noah who is a month older than Ads, he is sitting like a champ and was quite a bit bigger than Adelie and very stiff! I've noticed that boys tend to be much more stiff than little girls and are able to stand with help at a very early age. Adelie will stand for about 10 seconds and immediately sit down like a frog.  But she can now sit upish....not fully but very close! It usually only lasts about 30 or so seconds before a nose dive, but she's getting the hang of it!

On Friday I attended a craft Holiday Party where we made a Christmas Wreath for our front doors! Great time with good conversation and amazing Sangria.  

Brandon was watching babes for the night and after I left the party I headed to meet up with them at our friends house. I walk in to find her sitting at the Poker table with 5 guys chatting up a storm. At 10pm.

She is such a party animal.

On Saturday was my girlfriend Christmas get together, Once again Brandon had daddy duty while mama went out on the town with my friends. It was such a good time and we came home with some wild stories!

Our weekend wrapped up with a visit from Papa Ron as we hit the shopping scene for Aunt Jam and Uncle George.  Adelie was so good the entire day, and may I add, 

 holy cow is her vocal range getting loud.

She never was upset, but talked almost the entire time at the mall, loudly. So funny, and everyone thought she was such a peach!

Naughty mom moment:

In a very crowded teeny bopper store, I was attempting to steer Adelie in her stroller through the crowded already too small aisles when out of no where a girl whipped around and was going to run right into us. I immediately stopped the stroller which proceeded to flip backwards due to being weighed down from the million bags hanging from the mommy clips. Worst part? My pop which had been sitting in the tray flew out and onto babes. She was fine, just scared and had a sticky ear. The girl felt terrible and my dad laughed the whole time.

Paying it forward:

When we hit up Old Navy for some great deals, upon checking out the lady next to me decided she was going to buy me a scarf! I was so dumbfounded by the extremely nice gesture and thanked her up and down :) Can't wait to pass on the Holiday Cheer :)!

Week 23

Lady baby has learned a few new tricks this week, just in time for Thanksgiving!  She has found her tongue and was sticking it out like a crazy child yesterday night before bed! Such a small cute tongue ;) She can also now semi sit up ( for about 30 seconds before she looses strength and folds in two). Cannot wait for her to accomplish this, so she can stop getting so frustrated with her immobility!

Currently Ads is taking about four 30min-1hr naps a day. She goes to bed around 7 and wakes up when Brandon's alarm goes off at 7:30.  She will sleep in her crib or beside us in her pack and play (depending on me, Bad I know. )

But sometimes a momma just wants to reach over and hold her babes hand in the middle of the night ;)

On Tuesday we picked up cousin Elaina at GVSU for Fall break. Ahhh I remember fall break...
She was a GODSEND. We cleaned the house, turned up the festiveness and then she held the garbage can out for me when I threw the giblets away.  While squealing and dancing.

She is still teething about one day a week ( more drool then crying)
 Sometimes when she's cry/whining I think she says Mom...but that could just be wishful thinking ;)

Thanksgiving

 Our first hosted Thanksgiving went off without a hitch! After one full day of floor to ceiling cleaning, several hours preparing delicious smelling dishes and one large turkey we welcomed 18 family members into our home for a day of Thanks giving :)  This Thanksgiving marked the one year anniversary of our Big announcement!

Thanksgiving started out early as we peeled potatoes, decorated the three season room & prepared a turkey <--I did not toss my cookies but scene in the kitchen as I had to extract the giblets should have been submitted to AFHM...

Thanksgiving Festiveness

When I was given the opportunity to host a family Holiday, I jumped for joy!  I had always dreamed of being able to, and never thought I would get the chance since the Holidays have always been owned by my mother and Aunts ;)  My mom was the queen of throwing parties and I am so tickled to step into her shoes for my family this year. Everyone misses her extra around Thanksgiving as it was her holiday.  She bought Brandon and I this amazing china for our wedding which we have never gotten to use because honestly we have never had a fancy dinner party. 

Well mama! I'm breaking out the china!

This is what our Thanksgiving feast will consist of

Decor

I'm pinteresting like a crazy person to come up with a combination of festiveness to dress up our 3 season room! Now normally during the colder months it serves as an extra large walk in cooler, but it's just too pretty to not use as our dining room! It has floor to ceiling windows and we don't get to use it nearly enough! (would be totally awesome if it were to snow during dinner ;)

For our Thanksgiving Table decor, I'm thinking a combo of branches, mason jars, elegant dishes, crisp white serving platters, pumpkins and random dashes of gold glitter!

Games

For our family it is key to have a good variety of games when we gather.  Since we're already a loud family, some of these games get completely out of hand. But holy cow SO fun. We might need to invest in earmuffs for the wee ones ;)

Bingo

Up and down, diagonal, postage stamp four corners and dirty

This is a staple at our Thanksgivings. Each family brings 10 items and we hoot and holler over who gets a bimbo bingo. And all waiting for my granny to call out that one chip that will make my brother shriek B4? B4 what?!?

Left Right Center

The dice game. If you've never played it, you need to! I have never seen adults fight over quarters like I do during this game! And the chanting! There's always Chanting! left! left! left! right! right!right!

Apparel

This will be what we will be sporting this Turkey Day! A clash of Old Navy, Gap and American Eagle :)
